Hands-free on Android

We're wiring up a Tasker + AutoVoice + Google Assistant setup so you can say "Hey Google, ask AutoVoice to citi bike docks" while wearing headphones, with no touching the phone.

  • Requires Tasker (~$3.49) and AutoVoice (~$3) from Google Play.
  • The trigger phrase has to start with "ask AutoVoice to" — Google removed direct third-party voice actions in 2023, so the prefix is mandatory.
  • Works best with headsets that support "Hey Google" wake word — Pixel Buds, most Sony, Bose, and Jabra. AirPods on Android don't.

Setup instructions and the Tasker project file are landing in the next update.
